Disturbance Zones

Disturbance Zones is a suite of video works that explore ways in which our natural and social environments are becoming increasing unstable. Each short piece takes as its starting point one issue of radical change, which are then developed visually, sonically and poetically.

Although disturbance and change are part of the natural cycle, this is now happening on an unprecedented scale, forever changing the environment in which we live. This project explored the realities and the metaphor of disturbance throughout our environment and social lives. The objective was to challenge the way we think about the constant changes around us and to consider ways in which we can build resilience through learning to respond to instability. Instead of turning to fear and intolerance, this project argues for a creative, problem-solving approach.
